Safety Town - For Children entering Kindergarten in September 2021

ST21
2020 has been a different year, to say the very least.  Thus, in person Safety Town was canceled months ago, as it was deemed unsafe for us to bring all the children together.  With school slated to begin, we decided that we can bring Safety Town to those children that are supposed begin their academic career with 2 videos that parents can watch with their children.  These videos are meant as guidelines, and the applications are needed to be practiced by the parent and the child.  The Recreation Department partnered with our Fire and Police departments, as well as Highland Heights Police and Mayfield City Schools to bring to a different way to have Safety Town.  Below is a brief description of our typical Safety Town year.  Please note that the videos tried to accommodate as much as possible.

Safety Town instruction is provided by a school teacher along with the Mayfield Heights Police and Fire Departments, Highland Heights Police Department and Mayfield Village Police Department. A school bus, provided by the Mayfield School system, will be used to show the students all the aspects of proper school bus safety. Children will also learn essential elements in such areas as fire safety, stranger safety and poison safety and much more.
