Cleveland Orchestra & Collison Bend Brewery

Founded in 1918 by a group of local citizens, the Cleveland Orchestra has become and remains one of the most sought after performing ensembles in the world.  Since its opening in 1931, Severance Hall has been the orchestra’s winter home to where they set a standard of artistic excellence.  Join us as we set out to listen to conductor Thomas Søndergård  perform Debussy’s La Mer.

Following the performance, we will go down to Collision Bend Brewery, the renovated Hausheer Building on Old River Road. Today, beer is handcrafted by the people who helped launch the Great Lakes Brewing Company into national fame. Luke Purcell, and his team of brewers, carefully pair a variety of beers with an eclectic menu of food prepared from scratch that includes small plates to share and pizza from a wood-fired oven.

Bus trip will leave at 10:00 AM and return at approximately 2:30 PM.  Trip cost is $50 and includes transportation and ticket in the Balcony Level.  Lunch payment is made directly to the restaurant.

Rocky River

Our trip will start at Fort Hill –this iconic landmark is one of the most picturesque locations in the Emerald Necklace. The Fort Hill Stairs ascend to stunning views 90 feet above the east and west branches of the Rocky River.  On the National Register of Historic Places, Fort Hill is an authentic earthworks site believed to have been created by the Early Woodland Indians over 2,000 years ago.  With 155 steps to an amazing view, the Fort Hill Stairs are very popular for exercise and nature watching.

Once we have conquered the stairs, we will tackle some shopping at Old River shopping district, which is a century-old network of boutique retail stores, galleries and restaurants located in Downtown Rocky River.  This quaint historic community has a charm and character that is unmatched on Cleveland’s West Side.  Some stores include: Adesso, Belle’s Soiree, Girl Next Door and more.

Finally we will eat at Bearden’s.  Bearden’s originally opened in 1934 in Rocky River, Ohio under a different name, but in 1948 as a joint venture Bearden’s was started. The family owned and operated Bearden’s until 2010 when it was closed. In 2011 Bearden’s was purchase and after months of renovations reopened in October of 2011 with a new 50’s diner feel, but still serving the same great Bearden’s fare.

Bus trip will leave at 9:00 AM and return at approximately 3:00 PM.  Trip cost is $30 and includes transportation to and from Rocky River.  Lunch payment is made directly to the restaurant.

Cleveland Museum of Art and Night Town

As one of the world’s most distinguished comprehensive art museums and one of northeastern Ohio’s principal civic and cultural institutions, The Cleveland Museum of Art, which was founded in 1913 “for the benefit of all the people forever,”  strives to help the broadest possible audience understand and engage with the world’s great art while honoring the highest aesthetic, intellectual, and professional standards.

Named after the Dublin Red-Light District in James Joyce’s Ulysses, Night town, possesses the ambiance of turn of the century New York restaurants. Leaded, etched, and stained glass, combined with a collection of memorabilia from earlier eras decorate the six distinctly different dining rooms and three active bars. Since opening day, February 5, 1965, the menu has been a model of       consistency, while always evolving as food trends change. As they enter into their 50th year of business, Night town continues to be a top Cleveland dining and entertainment destination.

Bus trip will leave at 9:30 AM and return at approximately 2:30 PM.  Trip cost is $30 and includes transportation to Art Museum and Night Town.  Lunch payment is made directly to the restaurant.

Holiday Wine and Shop

Get a head start, or a late push, on your holiday season shopping, as our bus will travel to Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio.  Join us for a day of shopping and eating, as the bus will feature wines and appetizers on the trip down and back.  Enjoy a day free from driving and shop, eat or take in a movie at one the finest retail establishments in the state.

Easton Town Center was envisioned to be the most upscale, aspirational shopping destination in Columbus. There would be a    diverse mix of best-in-class retailers unrivaled anywhere in the market. And they would be nestled in an open-air, pedestrian-friendly setting reminiscent of small town USA. The urban appeal would combine with nostalgic charm, evoking a strong “sense of place.” It would be a combination that was far from ordinary; something the region had never seen before. Easton has become one of the country’s leading urban retail centers. Since opening in 1999, Easton draws more than 30 million visitors annually and has over 180 of the nation’s most sought-after retailers, of which there are 40 retailers that are new to Columbus. Visitors can shop Coach, Apple, Crate & Barrel, Barnes & Noble, Burberry, Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Victoria’s Secret and more. Make sure to check out the impressive list of retail stores and restaurants at eastontowncenter.com

Bus trip will leave at 9:00 AM and return at approximately 5:00 PM.  Trip cost is $35 and includes transportation to Easton Town Center.  Lunch payment is made directly to the restaurant of your choice.
