Recreation Department - Summer Employment

Day Camp Counselor - Must be a high school graduate or above.  Participates in all camp activities.  Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to, interacting with campers within the age groups from 5-12 (entering Kindergarten - 6th grade).  Must possess maturity and ability to handle conflict.  Candidates must be available, with no conflicts, for the entire duration of camp.

Teen Camp Counselor - Must be a high school graduate or above.  Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to, interacting with campers in 7th & 8th grades.  Participates in all excursions and camp activities.  Must possess maturity and ability to handle conflict.  Candidates must be available, with no conflicts, for the entire duration of camp.

Concession Stand - Must be 16-years of age or above with previous cash register and money handling experience.  Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to, handling of money, providing strong customer service, listening skills, and ability to enforce the rules & regulations of the concession stand.  Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 2-evenings and weekend shifts per week.

Safety Town - Must be 14-years of age or above.  Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to, working with our Safety Town Director to deliver a strong safety program to all participants who will be entering kindergarten in the upcoming school year.  Must enjoy working with young children and be able to work mornings for the duration of the Safety Town Program.

Skate Park - Must be 15-years of age or above.  Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to, daily operation and security of the skate park, cleanliness of the skate park and surrounding areas, ability to enforce the rules & regulations of the skate park as directed by the Parks & Recreation Department.  Candidates must be available to work the entire duration of the skate park season and fulfill the hours of operation.

Lifeguard - Must have valid certifications.  Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to, daily safety of pool patrons, maintaining deck safety, and following directions given by pool management and Parks & Recreation staff.  Candidates must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Service Department - Summer Employment

Laborer - Must be 16-years of age or above.  Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to, outdoor tasks at the Service Department facilities and City Parks, landscaping, mowing, facilities maintenance, and assists with various tasks as assigned.  Candidates may be asked to work a weekend or holiday.
