2013 Parade Grand Marshal:

Felix Wright - Former Cleveland Browns safety

After going undrafted from Drake University, a brief career in education – teaching physical education and history, try outs for the Houston Oilers and Detroit Lions, and a start in the Canadian Football League, Felix Wright played his way into the hearts of all the Cleveland Browns fans. A hard work ethic that led to an eight year playing career, six with the Browns, Wright was a key component to the Browns successful secondary and playoff run, which was highlighted by three AFC championships. During his six year Cleveland career, Wright compiled twenty-six interceptions, two for touchdowns; an additional four interceptions in the playoffs; and led the National Football League with nine interceptions in the 1989 season. Wright was ranked number eighty-seven by cleveland.com on their top 100 all-time Cleveland Browns. He is also remembered for his upending hit on Buffalo Bills Don Beebe in a 1989 playoff game. After his playing career ended and moving to Westlake, Wright brought that hard work ethic to his successful business endeavors; a factoring business that buys receivables and financial advising company that helps with NFL and NBA players. Wright still has ties to the NFL as well, as he is one of 32 uniform inspectors for each of the Cleveland Browns home games.
