The City of Mayfield Heights has the following summer postions in our Recreation Department:
CONCESSION STAND:
Must be 16 years or older with previous cash register and money hadling experience. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to handling money, providing strong customer service, good listening skills, and ability to enforce the rules and regulations of the concession stand. Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 2 evening/weekend shifts per week.
DAY CAMP COUNSELOR:
Must be a High School Graduate or above. Participates in all camp activities. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to interacting with campers whom range in age from 5-12 years old (entering Kindergarten - 6th grade). Must possess maturity and ability to handle conflict. Candidates must be available, with no conflicts, for the entire duration of camp.
LIFEGUARD:
Must be 16 years or older with valid certifications. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to the daily safety of our pool patrons, maintaining deck safety and following directions given by pool management and Parks and Recreation staff. Candidates must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
SAFETY TOWN:
Must be 14 years or older. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited toworking with our Safety Town Director to deliver a strong safety program to all participants who will be entering kindergarten in the upcoming school year. Must enjoy working with young children and be able to work mornings for the duration of the Safety Town program.
SCORE TOWER:
Must be 16 years or older. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to setting up bases, opening the score towers, tracking scores of the games, notifying proper management of issues. May also work in concessions. Candidates must be able to work nights and weekends.
SKATE PARK:
Must be 15 years or older. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to daily operation and security of the skate park, cleanliness of the surrounding areas, ability to enforce the rules and regulations of the skate parks as directed by the Parks and Recreation Department. Candidates must be available to work during the skate park season and hours of operation.
TEEN CAMP COUNSELOR:
Must be a High School Graduate or above. Participates in all excursions and camp activities. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to interacting with campers in 7th and 8th grades. Must possess maturity and ability to handle conflict. Candidates must be available, with no conflicts, for the entire duration of camp.
