The City Engineer operates under the supervision of the Mayor/Safety Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: review all plats and drawings for developments submitted to the City to assure compliance to City codes and standards and recommend approval or disapproval, provide technical support in the preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for municipal construction projects, attend meetings of the Council, Planning Commission and Council Committees upon request of the Mayor, assist the City in obtaining competitive bids for the construction of improvements, tabulate the bids, and make recommendations to the City regarding an award of a construction contract(s), assist the financial advisor of the City in arranging financing for the improvements and preparing the necessary engineering reports and certificates required.
