Mayfield Heights has a very wide range of housing sizes and styles. You can find everything from center hall colonials to one story ranches to one bedroom apartments to assisted living centers. Split levels and bungalows abound. There are a few newer housing developments that include single family, condominiums and cluster home styles. The well established neighborhoods enjoy lovingly maintained homes.   Eastgate Shopping Center and Golden Gate Shopping Center, Colony Square and Mayland Shopping Center are conveniently located in the City of Mayfield Heights along with other retails shops along Mayfield Road.

Beachwood Mall, Richmond Town Square and Legacy Village are located within five miles of our community.

The Landerbrook and Landerhaven Corporate Parks are home to many prestigious companies.

Healthcare  

Hillcrest Hospital is part of the Cleveland Clinic Health System and is a full-service, 421-bed hospital that is located in the City of Mayfield Heights. A four-story tower opened in 2004, adding 103 of these beds, as well as two new operating rooms, expanded cancer center services and an endovascular suite for minimally invasive vascular procedures.

The hospital offers comprehensive cardiovascular services under the direction of the Cleveland Clinic’s Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, catheterization labs, cardiac rehabilitation, and vascular and endovascular services. Hillcrest Hospital’s William B. Hirsch Cancer Center offers a full range of care, featuring Cleveland Clinic radiation oncologists and gynecological cancer services. The cancer center also participates in many national clinical trials.


Hillcrest delivers more babies than any other East Side community hospital. Babies with special needs are cared for in the Level II special care nursery. The hospital also features a pediatric emergency unit, inpatient pediatrics and Cleveland Clinic pediatric surgeons (on call 24 hours a day). Hillcrest has been named eight times as one of the nation’s 100 top hospitals in the consumer choice survey conducted by Solucient, a leading provider of information to the health care industry. The hospital also ranked nationally in respiratory disorders in U.S. News & World Report’s "America’s Best Hospitals" 2004 survey.

 
       
Transportation   Schools  

Mayfield Heights is conveniently situated near Interstate 271 with quick access to Interstate 90 leading to downtown Cleveland and Interstate 480 leading to southern and western suburbs of Cleveland. Travel time to downtown Cleveland is approximately twenty-five minutes. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is located forty minutes from the City of Mayfield Heights.

Mayfield City School District serves the communities of Mayfield Heights, Gates Mills, Highland Heights and Mayfield Village. There are four elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. There is a 16 to 1 student teacher ratio and the average class size from K-4 is 22. For the third consecutive year, the Mayfield Schools have earned not only an "Excellent" rating on the Ohio Report Card, but also a perfect score – 25 out of 25 indicators. As a result, our school system is one of the top tier districts in the state.

The Class of 2006 earned hundreds of scholarships and a significant percentage has gone on to studies beyond high school. The Class of 2006 also boasted five National Merit Scholars and four National Merit Commended Scholars. Nearly 60% of the teachers now have a Master’s Degree or better in their subject area.
