“Police and Teens Building Relationships for the Future”

Program Overview

This Teen Police Academy is modeled after the very successful adults Citizens’ Police Academy.  The Teen Academy is intended for young men or young women that have an interest in a career in law enforcement or have an interest in learning why and how police officers serve their community.  Get a behind the scenes look at a police department, as well as allowing our officers the opportunity to interact and build positive relationships with the teens residing in the Mayfield School District. 

The Academy includes:

· An Academy T-Shirt along with a structured but fun atmosphere
· Exciting hands-on training with Patrol Officers, Detectives, Airsoft Shooting Range, the SWAT Team, K9 Unit, and the Bomb Squad
· The five week academy ends with a Graduation ceremony

Eligibility Requirements


· Grades 8 – 12
· Primary residence is in the Mayfield School System
· A wide variety of classroom instruction and interaction
· Agree to attend all sessions of the Teen Academy (5 weeks)

You can sign up online by clicking the "Online Registration & Information" link under Parks and Recreation. Click register for activities, under "Programs" click "Youth Community Classes" and then you can register for the C.A.T.S. Academy online.
