A public hearing has been scheduled for March 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. As posted on February 10th, the City of Mayfield Heights, which is a public body, intends to submit a Proposal for a capital grant under the provision of 49 USC Section 5310 of the Federal Transit Act to provide transportation service for the elderly and disabled within the Mayfield Heights community. The proposed routes for service include Mayfield Road, SOM Center Road, Ridgebury Boulevard, and Marsol Road.
The grant Proposal will request two (2) vehicles. It is projected that nearly 2,000 seniors will benefit from this added daily transportation. This will help to provide access for various activities, including transportation to shopping, hospital, doctors, library, schools, voting, and our senior center.
The City of Mayfield Heights invites comments and proposals from all interested public, private and paratransit operators including taxi operators, for the provision of transportation service to the elderly and disabled within our service area. Operators who are interested in offering proposals to provide service should contact Joe Fornaro, Director of Public Works at the City of Mayfield Heights, 6154 Mayfield Road, Mayfield Heights, OH 44124 to obtain full details of the type of transportation service that is needed prior to preparing a proposal.
There will be a public meeting held to consider the economic, social, and environmental effects of the City of Mayfield Heights’ project. The public meeting will be at in the council chambers at city hall and will be held on March 3rd at 11:00 a.m.
